The Los Angeles Dodgers claimed their eighth World Series title in franchise history after defeating the New York Yankees in five games.
After leading the series three games to zero, the Dodgers lost game four and appeared to be on the verge of losing game five after being down in the game five to zero at one point.
On paper, the series seemed to be an easy win for the Dodgers, but Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts revealed his honest thoughts about game five of the series.
“I was so afraid to come back to Los Angeles for game 6,” Roberts said.

The Dodgers were on the verge of making the wrong side of MLB history in game five when they trailed the Yankees five to zero.
Out of every series in World Series history where a team had led three games to zero, none of them have even made it to game six.
The Dodgers trailed the Yankees by five runs, and it seemed that this was going to be the first series to go six games after the commanding three-game lead.
Roberts described his feelings of urgency to win game five as the pressure would build significantly if the series moved back to Los Angeles for game six.
After trailing by five runs, the Dodgers completed the comeback to win by a score of seven to six and take the World Series title.
Many fans probably don’t realize that this series was close to making MLB history and becoming very interesting if the Yankees were able to pull off the win in game five.
