According to the New York Post’s Dan Bartels on ‘X,’ the Mets have reportedly offered Soto a 15-year contract worth $700 million per Adrian Mendoza.

The Mets reside in the same state as the Yankees, yet they have 25 fewer World Series titles than their state rivals.
After falling one series short of the World Series in 2024, the Mets have their sights on the World Series in 2025.
The Mets are attempting to sign one of the Yankees’ best players in Soto and keep him in the state of New York.
Soto played his first season with the Yankees in 2024 and batted .288 with 41 home runs, 109 RBIs, and a .989 OPS.
He is a generational talent and the Mets clearly see that as they reportedly offered him a 15-year contract worth $700 million, which ties Shohei Ohtani’s contract from last year with the Dodgers.
It will be interesting to see if this is the last twist in the Soto sweepstakes, or if another team is willing to raise the bar even higher to a record-breaking number.
