We are about halfway through the MLB season and with just over a month to go until the trade deadline, it’s time for teams to start figuring out if they are buyers or sellers.

One insider believes that one team at the bottom of the standings is desperately in need of selling.

The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal said that the Chicago White Sox could be one of the most active teams at the trade deadline and believes that “they should blow it up and do some big things to try to get back into contention quickly.”

The White Sox are 21-59 and sitting comfortably with the worst record in the league, and Rosenthal pointed out that they have plenty of pieces that would interest other teams, namely Luis Robert Jr., Garrett Crochet, Erick Fedde, and Tommy Pham.

Crochet has blossomed in his first year as a starter and Fedde has also come out of nowhere at 31 years old to be one of the American League’s best starting pitchers, as both guys currently sport a 3.05 ERA.

Robert is the team’s best player and would command a haul in any trade despite his injury issues, but there is plenty of incentive to keep him given the fact that he is only 26.

Rosenthal also mentions the Toronto Blue Jays and Miami Marlins as possible sellers, but the White Sox are the most obvious one.

This team has big assets and only 21 wins, and in a seller’s market, this is where the Sox need to shine.
