The New York Mets were eliminated from the 2024 playoffs was a Game 6 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series.

Making the NLCS was the furthest the Mets have advanced in the postseason since going to the World Series in 2015.

The Mets were unable to contain the Dodgers lineup as they gave up 46 runs in the series.

However, New York star Francisco Lindor sent a powerful message following the exit from the postseason.

“There’s something special going on here. It’s going to be one of those where 10, 15 years from now, guys are still going to talk to each other. I’m proud of that,” Lindor said, via SNY.

Lindor appears to be suggesting that the Mets are very close with each other and more than just teammates.

They made an incredible run, as they were underdogs against the Milwaukee Brewers in the wild-card series and then to the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Division Series.

Lindor’s championship series consisted of seven hits in 24 at-bats with one home run, one triple, two RBIs, five runs scored and four walks.

It appears that the shortstop believes the Mets will be back next year to make another run at a World Series title.

However, first baseman Pete Alonso is heading toward free agency this offseason and could have played his last game for the team.

It will be interesting to see if he is back with the Mets for the 2025 season.
