The New York Yankees made a postseason run to appear in their first World Series since winning the title in 2009.
After finishing the regular season with a record of 94-68 and winning the American League East, the Yankees made a postseason run before losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The offseason saw the Yankees lose outfielder Juan Soto, who signed a 15-year deal with the New York Mets worth $765 million.
Although the Yankees could not re-sign Soto, they made some notable acquisitions, including starting pitcher Max Fried, relief pitcher Devin Williams and outfielder Cody Bellinger.
The Yankees made another recent acquisition as it was reported they signed a starting pitcher.
“Yankees, RHP Carlos Carrasco are reportedly in agreement on a minor league deal,” MLB Network wrote on X.

After playing 12 seasons with Cleveland, Carrasco went to the Mets for three seasons before going back to the Guardians in 2024.
He started 21 games and was 3-10 with a 5.64 ERA and 89 strikeouts in 103.2 innings pitched.
The Yankees get a veteran to join their organization, which could benefit the clubhouse culture if he makes it to the big leagues in 2025.
Carrasco’s best season came in 2017 when he recorded 18 wins and a 3.29 ERA in 32 starts.
The Yankees will try to win back-to-back AL East titles in 2025 and now have Carrasco to help that cause.
