The Detroit Tigers were one of the most surprising teams in the 2024 season as they made the playoffs for the first time since 2014.

After finishing with a record of 86-76 and second in the American League Central, the Tigers knocked off the Houston Astros in the wild-card round.

The Tigers had an amazing second half of the season to earn that wild-card spot.

Detroit outfielder Kerry Carpenter recently revealed his thoughts ahead of the 2025 season.

“It’s exciting going into this year. I think I’ll get some opportunities,” Carpenter said, via MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM.

Carpenter has played all three seasons of his MLB career with the team.

In 2024, he played in 87 games and batted .284 with 18 home runs, 57 RBIs and a .932 OPS.

At 27 years old, he is considered a veteran on this Tigers team due to their roster being one of the youngest in the game.

Before the 2024 campaign, the Tigers had seven straight losing seasons, but it appears like the team has figured something out as they look to build on their success.

The Tigers will look to win their first division title since 2014 and make their first World Series appearance since 2012.

Carpenter hopes to get more playing time as he believes he can put in more work to hit against left-handed pitching.

It will be interesting to see if this Tigers team can follow up a successful 2024 season with another in 2025.
