The Atlanta Braves made the postseason for a seventh straight season after getting into the playoffs through a wild-card spot with a record of 89-73.
Although the Braves made the postseason, they were swept by the San Diego Padres in the wild-card series.
The Braves dealt with multiple injuries to many key players on their roster, but their ace starting pitcher managed to stay healthy and win the National League Cy Young Award.
Now, Chris Sale could make history in 2025.
According to MLB on X, Sale could become the first player to win back-to-back NL Cy Young Awards since 2019.

The projected numbers for Sale, according to Fangraphs projections, include 187 innings pitched with a 3.08 ERA and 230 strikeouts.
In 2024, Sale started 29 games and was 18-3 with a 2.38 ERA and 225 strikeouts in 177.2 innings pitched.
The projections for Sale suggest that he will have another great season and could become the first player to win back-to-back NL Cy Young Awards since Jacob deGrom did in 2018 and 2019.
Sale has dealt with multiple injuries in his career, and the 29 games started in 2024 were his most since he started 32 in both 2016 (Chicago White Sox) and 2017 (Boston Red Sox).
The Braves hope to get the same dominant pitcher in 2025 as they try to win another NL East title and possibly a World Series.
Sale is 35 years old, so it will be interesting to see if he can pitch the same number of innings again and avoid getting injured in the process.
