The Los Angeles Dodgers won their eighth World Series after finishing the 2024 regular season with a record of 98-64 and winning the National League West.

The Dodgers then came out swinging this offseason as they acquired multiple big-name pitchers to improve their roster even further for the 2025 season.

They include starter Blake Snell from the San Francisco Giants, starter Roki Sasaki coming over from Japan, and reliever Tanner Scott from the San Diego Padres.

While the Dodgers’ roster is looking good, they are dealing with an injury to a pitcher in their bullpen.

MLB insider Bob Nightengale recently provided an update on the team’s plan for Michael Kopech.

“There is no structural damage with Kopech’s forearm, just inflammation, so the Dodgers plan to be cautious with him at the season’s outset,” Nightengale wrote on X.

Kopech reportedly could miss up to a month to begin the season.

He debuted in 2018 with the Chicago White Sox but missed the 2019 season due to injury and the 2020 season due to opting out because of the pandemic.

In 2024 with the Dodgers and White Sox, Kopech appeared in 67 games and was 6-8 with 15 saves, a 3.46 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 67.2 innings pitched.

Kopech was expected to be a big contributor to the Dodgers’ bullpen in 2025, but that will be delayed while they ensure he is 100 percent healthy for the long haul.
