The Los Angeles Dodgers followed up their eighth World Series title in franchise history by making some huge acquisitions this offseason.

With a roster that is already loaded with talent, the Dodgers added Cy Young Award-winning starting pitcher Blake Snell, starting pitcher Roki Sasaki, and one of the top relief pitchers Tanner Scott.

The Dodgers have won the National League West title in 11 of the last 12 seasons, and they will likely be favored to win the division again in 2025.

Scott is an acquisition that many people didn’t hear anything about until the deal was done, but MLB Analyst David Vassegh revealed when the team started to pursue him.

“I know the rest of the baseball world may be surprised, but I started to hear about the Dodgers targeting Tanner Scott going back to the Winter Meetings in December,” Vassegh said via MLB Network on ‘X.’

Vassegh revealed that he first heard about the team pursuing Scott going back to the Winter Meetings in December, and they finally got a deal done.

Scott signed a four-year deal with the Dodgers worth $72 million.

In 2024 between the San Diego Padres and Miami Marlins, Scott appeared in 72 games where he held a record of 9-6 with a 1.75 ERA, 22 saves, and 84 strikeouts in 72.0 innings pitched.

The Dodgers could now potentially have a shutdown closer along with a starting rotation that arguably has five number-one guys in it.

While the Dodgers have eight World Series championships, they have never won back-to-back titles.

2025 could change that as they will likely be favored to win the title again with the amount of talent they have on their roster.
