The Major League Baseball offseason has been full of excitement since the beginning with multiple big-name free-agent players switching teams and big-time trades going down.
With offensive players like Juan Soto and Kyle Tucker to starting pitchers like Corbin Burnes, Max Fried, and Blake Snell all switching teams, the offseason has seen a ton of action.
The Los Angeles Dodgers got right into the action after winning the World Series by signing free-agent starting pitcher Blake Snell from the San Francisco Giants.
One starting pitcher free agent that is still available is Roki Sasaki who is coming over to the MLB from Japan this offseason.
MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal revealed his prediction on where Sasaki will sign.

Likely a big reason the Dodgers are the favorites to sign Sasaki is the other Japanese pitchers on the roster including Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
Sasaki is only 23 years old and is coming over to the MLB from Japan with the reputation of having an electric arm.
In 2024 with his overseas team, Sasaki appeared in 18 games where he held a record of 10-5 with a 2.35 ERA and 129 strikeouts in 111.0 innings pitched.
Rosenthal does mention that he wouldn’t be surprised if Sasaki signed with the San Diego Padres, but he still believes the Dodgers are the team he will choose.
The Padres also have Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish on their roster, which could give some incentive to Sasaki to sign there.
