The Detroit Tigers made the postseason for the first time in ten seasons after finishing with a record of 86-76.
Along with the Tigers, two other teams from the American League Central made the postseason including the Cleveland Guardians and the Kansas City Royals.
Although the Tigers haven’t won an AL Central title since 2014, the postseason appearance in 2024 is still being noticed.
MLB Analyst Scott Braun gave the Tigers a shout-out as they shocked the MLB world by making the playoffs.
“Nobody saw this team doing what they were doing,” Braun said via Foul Territory on ‘X.’

The Tigers played an incredible stretch of baseball in the second half of the season to make the postseason via a wild-card spot.
Not only did the Tigers surprise everybody and make the postseason, they then knocked off the Houston Astros in the wild-card round, who had made seven consecutive American League Championship Series appearances.
The gritty Tigers team was led by their American League Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal who had a dominating season in 2024.
Skubal started 31 games for the Tigers and held a record of 18-4 with a 2.39 ERA and 228 strikeouts in 192.0 innings pitched.
In the playoffs against the Astros, Skubal recorded a win after pitching six shutout innings allowing only four hits and one walk while striking out six.
The Tigers will attempt to prove themselves again in 2025 in a tough division that accounted for three playoff teams in 2024.
Not only will the Tigers try to win the AL Central title, but they will also try to win their first World Series title since 1984.
