The Toronto Blue Jays missed the postseason for the first time in the past three seasons after finishing last in the American League East.

After making back-to-back postseason appearances, the Blue Jays posted a disappointing 74-88 record in 2024.

With a chance to upgrade its roster this offseason, Toronto hasn’t made any significant free agent moves thus far.

They acquired second baseman Andres Gimenez in a trade with the Cleveland Guardians as their most significant transaction to date.

MLB analyst Jon Morosi predicted what the Blue Jays will do before the offseason ends.

“They will find a way to add one more significant piece at the very least,” Morosi said, via MLB Network.

The Blue Jays were one of the teams in pursuit of Juan Soto before he signed with the New York Mets.

Morosi said he believes Toronto will find a way to add a big-time player and mentions Nick Pivetta or Anthony Santander.

Although the Blue Jays have made the postseason three times recently, they were swept in the wild-card series in each of those appearances.

The Blue Jays haven’t won a division title since 2015 and haven’t moved past the wild-card round since 2016.

If the Blue Jays want to compete for an AL East title against the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles, they likely need to make a significant move.
