Fans of the Seattle Mariners have not had much to cheer for lately.
The Mariners missed the postseason for the second straight season after finishing with a record of 85-77.
They will need to make some moves this offseason to get their team back to a competitive level.
According to B/R Walk-Off on ‘X,’ MLB Network’s Jon Morosi reports that Josh Naylor’s name has come up in trade talks between the Mariners and the Cleveland Guardians.

Naylor entered the league in 2019 with the San Diego Padres before going to the Guardians in 2020.
In 2024, Naylor played 152 games for the Guardians, batting .243 with 31 home runs, 108 RBIs, and a .776 OPS.
One of the Mariners’ main weak spots is their offense, so trading for Naylor would make some sense for the team.
The Mariners have plenty of solid starting pitchers on their staff, and they would make good trade bait for the team to obtain better bats in their lineup.
In 2024, Naylor, only 27 years old, scored career highs in home runs, RBIs, and runs.
The Mariners have finished second in the American League West division three out of the last four years but haven’t won a division title since 2001.
If the Mariners want a chance to win their first World Series title in franchise history, they must be aggressive this offseason.
