The Major League Baseball offseason was hit with the biggest news of the year after superstar free agent Juan Soto signed with the New York Mets.
Soto played his first year with the New York Yankees in 2024 before signing with the other New York team this offseason.
The Soto sweepstakes was filled with drama from start to end with multiple teams involved in talks with the all-star outfielder.
When Soto chose the Mets, most people assumed it was because they offered him the most money, but Soto revealed a different reason for choosing them.
“The Mets is a great organization. They have all of the ability to keep winning, to try to grow a dynasty,” Soto said via SNY on ‘X.’
Juan Soto is asked why he chose to join the Mets:

Soto says that he joined the Mets due to their ability to keep winning and to grow the team into a dynasty for years to come.
Interestingly, Soto expressed wanting to win as a main reason for going to them when the Mets only have two World Series in franchise history while the Yankees have 27.
While the teams appear to be pretty evenly matched as of now, Soto could potentially have put a large amount of pressure on the Mets to win with his comments.
Soto will join the Mets in 2025 after signing a deal worth $765 million over 15 years.
The Mets haven’t won a World Series title since 1986, but the addition of Soto will greatly increase their chances heading into the 2025 season.
After signing with the Mets, Soto will now be playing for his fourth different team at only 26 years old.
