The New York Mets’ family got much bigger this week when the team signed free agent outfielder Juan Soto to the largest contract in professional sports history at 15 years, $765 million.
As big as that signing was, the news didn’t stop there as shortstop Francisco Lindor announced on Friday that the Mets family is about to get just a bit bigger even after the Soto announcement.
SNY Mets shared a recent photo from Lindor’s Instagram on X that shows the shortstop and his family holding up ultrasound prints with a caption that says, “All eyes on you, little one. Party of 5 coming soon.”
Congratulations to the Lindors, who are expecting their third child!

You can’t get a better gift than that for the holiday season, and congratulations are in order for Lindor and his wife, who will hopefully have a smooth pregnancy and welcome a healthy, happy baby into their family sometime next Summer.
Each of Lindor’s four seasons in New York has been better than the last, and he’ll now be welcoming in Soto to provide protection in the lineup, unlike anything he has ever had before.
Lindor just turned 31 and is in the prime of his career, so what better time to add another member to the family?
There are still questions to be answered for the Mets in free agency, namely the status of first baseman Pete Alonso, who remains on the open market and would be a massive loss for this organization even after signing Soto.
Plenty of blessings to the Lindor family, and hopefully the new addition to the family will bring him even more success on the field.
