The MLB offseason is heating up as more and more free-agent players are signing contracts with teams for the 2025 season.

Top free-agent player in this year’s class Juan Soto has yet to make a decision on where he will play next season.

The Boston Red Sox are one of the teams involved in the Soto sweepstakes, but the team has their eye on another free-agent outfielder if they are unable to sign Soto.

Teoscar Hernandez of the Los Angeles Dodgers is another free-agent outfielder this season, and he has revealed which teams he would like to play for in 2025.

According to Pete Abraham on ‘X,’ Hernandez would prefer to stay with the Dodgers, but he has been long intrigued by the idea of playing at Fenway Park.

Hernandez came into the league in 2016 with the Houston Astros and has played nine MLB seasons in his career.

In 2024 during his first year with the Dodgers, Hernandez played in 154 games and batted .272 with 33 home runs, 99 RBIs, and a .840 OPS.

While the Red Sox’s first option would clearly be to sign Soto, their backup plan includes targeting Hernandez who appears to have some interest in playing for the Red Sox.

The Red Sox have missed the postseason for three straight seasons, and they will need to make some moves to be competitive with the New York Yankees in 2025.

Hernandez will likely not sign until after Soto makes his final decision, so the next week of the MLB offseason could be very exciting for fans.
