The Houston Astros’ streak of seven straight American League Championship Series appearances came to an end in 2024.
After finishing with a record of 88-73 and winning the American League West division, the Astros were swept in the wild-card series by the Detroit Tigers.
The Astros enter the offseason unsure of the future of their all-star third baseman Alex Bregman.
Bregman is a free agent this offseason, and MLB Analyst Chris Gimenez revealed the team that he thinks is the best fit for Bregman.
“I will always look at him as a Houston Astro,” Gimenez said via MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM.

Bregman came into the league in 2016 with the Astros and has played all nine seasons of his MLB career with the organization.
Gimenez believes that Bregman should remain an Astro and cement his legacy as one of the best Astros players of all time.
In 2024, Bregman played 145 games and batted .260 with 26 home runs, 75 RBIs, and a .768 OPS.
The Astros’ organization has been a dynasty over the last eight seasons as they made seven straight ALCS appearances along with two World Series titles.
Bregman has been one of the staples in the Astros’ lineup for this recent run, and Gimenez believes that is enough for the organization to offer him another contract.
Although the Astros lost in the wild-card series in 2024, the team has won four straight American League West titles and will look to make it five straight in 2025.
Bregman will be a name to keep an eye on as the offseason progresses.
