The Miami Marlins missed the postseason in 2024 after finishing with a record of 62 wins and 100 losses.
Since winning the World Series in 2003, the Marlins have only made the postseason twice in the last 21 seasons.
The Marlins lost triple-digit games for the third time in the last 12 seasons and this has resulted in them making a change at Manager before the 2025 season.
Clayton McCullough was announced as the new Manager of the Marlins, and Marlins President Peter Bendix revealed his thoughts on the hire.
“He fits everything we’re looking for in a manager. The type of person he is just fits with our culture so perfectly,” Bendix said.

McCullough has never managed in the MLB before, but he just won a World Series with the Dodgers as their first-base coach, a position he has had since 2021.
Bendix appears to have a lot of confidence that McCullough will fit in perfectly with the Marlins and give them the best chance of getting their team back to a competitive level.
The Marlins have two World Series titles in franchise history that came in 1997 and 2003, but the team has not done well since their last title.
McCullough will have his work cut out for him to get this team back to being competitive in the National League East as they haven’t won a division title in team history.
The Marlins will look to take steps in the right direction in 2025 and they hope that McCullough can lead the rebuild of their team in his first year as an MLB Manager.
