The Houston Astros had another successful season as they won the American League West for the fourth straight year with a record of 88 wins and 73 losses.
After making the American League Championship Series the last seven seasons in a row, the Astros lost in the first round of the playoffs in 2024.
The Astros won their division but were swept by the Detroit Tigers in the wild-card series two games to zero.
On Monday, the team announced that their home field Minute Maid Park will have a new name come January 2025.
According to B/R Walk-Off on ‘X,’ the Astros announced that their stadium will be named Daikin Park starting in the new year.

Minute Maid Park has been the home of the Astros since 2002, but that streak will end come January.
It appears that the Astros dynasty may be over as their streak of seven straight ALCS appearances was snapped.
In those seven straight appearances in the ALCS, the Astros won the World Series twice in 2017 and 2022 while also losing the World Series in 2019 and 2021.
The new name of the ballpark will take some getting used to for Astros fans, but Minute Maid Park had a long and successful run with the team.
In 2025, the Astros will try to win the AL West for the fifth straight season and the eighth time in the last nine seasons.
The Astros have now turned their attention to the free-agent class before the 2025 season.
