New York Host Says Seeds Slowly Planted For Juan Soto Decison

The New York Yankees fell three wins short of winning the 28th World Series title in franchise history as they lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games.

Now that the season is over, the Yankees have another battle ahead of them as star outfielder Juan Soto is a free agent.

The Soto Sweepstakes have involved talk of many teams being interested, including the Yankees, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants and Boston Red Sox.

With no decision made as of yet, New York radio host Sal Licata revealed that he thinks Soto will stay in New York, but with the Mets and not the Yankees.

“It feels like the seeds are starting to slowly be planted for Juan Soto to exit the New York Yankees,” Licata said, via WFAN Sports Radio.

Sal says he is becoming more convinced that Soto will choose the “looser, more fun” environment of the Mets:https://t.co/CpBd3aeD6w

Licata mentions that he believes Soto will choose the Mets because their environment is looser and more fun than the Yankees’.

Playing for the Yankees definitely has its benefits as they have the most World Series titles in all of baseball, but it also comes with a large amount of pressure to win.

Licata is leaning toward Soto signing with the Mets and joining an organization that just doesn’t have the same scrutiny as playing for the Yankees does.

Signing Soto will require a huge amount of money, and Mets owner Steve Cohen should be able to write whatever check is necessary.

It will be interesting to see if Licata’s gut feeling is right, or if a different dark horse team will come into play for Soto.
