Analyst Believes Twins Could Trade Key Veteran

The Minnesota Twins finished the 2024 season with a record of 82 wins and 80 losses which was good enough for a fourth-place finish in the American League Central.

In a division that was responsible for three postseason teams in 2024, the Twins missed out on the playoffs by four games in the wild card.

The Twins team is up for sale as the Pohlad family, who has owned the Twins for the last 40 years, announced they will be selling the team.

MLB Analyst Jon Morosi believes that the sale of the team could end up with a key veteran player being traded this offseason.

“I like this idea of a Carlos Correa trade,” Morosi said.

Correa dealt with some injuries during the 2024 season and only ended up playing 86 games for the Twins.

He made the most of the games he did play however as he batted .310 with 14 home runs, 54 RBIs, and a .905 OPS.

Morosi mentions that Correa has four years left on his contract before club options become available, and this could spark the possibility of trading him.

One team Morosi mentions that could be a good fit is the New York Yankees, especially if they are unable to sign their own free agent, Juan Soto.

Correa played his third season for the Twins in 2024 after playing seven seasons with the Houston Astros.

He won the Rookie of the Year award in 2015 in his first year with the Astros.

It will be interesting to see how the offseason plays out for the Twins and if they do decide to trade Correa.
