Shohei Ohtani Seen In Sling After Surgery

The Los Angeles Dodgers won the eighth World Series title in franchise history by defeating the New York Yankees in five games.

Superstar Shohei Ohtani had an incredible regular season but appeared to struggle a bit in the World Series.

Ohtani signed a 10-year deal with the Dodgers before the 2024 season, and fans got a scare when he appeared to injure himself against the Yankees.

He appeared to dislocate his shoulder in Game 2, and it later was announced that he had surgery to repair a torn labrum.

Ohtani recently was seen in a sling following the surgery, via TMZ Sports.

The injury occurred while sliding into second base during a steal attempt.

Though he did not miss a game, Ohtani could be seen holding his arm while running the bases, and it ultimately needed surgery to repair.

The Dodgers hope that Ohtani is recovered and ready to go for spring training ahead of the 2025 season, which could include his return to the pitcher’s mound.

In his first season with the Dodgers, Ohtani became the first player in MLB history to record a season with 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases.

His season stats included a .310 batting average with 54 home runs, 130 RBIs, 59 stolen bases, 134 runs scored and a 1.036 OPS.

Ohtani was able to win a World Series in his first year with the organization, and fans are hopeful he can lead the Dodgers to many more championships in the future.
