The excitement of the Major League Baseball postseason has officially come to an end as the Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series title over the New York Yankees.
As the offseason begins, a whole new kind of excitement will start as free agency will be in full swing.
The New York Mets fell just short of a World Series appearance after losing to the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series.
As the Mets look to get over the hump in 2025, MLB Analyst Mike Ferrin points out one free agent that could be a great fit in New York.
“If you signed Willy Adames to play second base, that would really upgrade the middle of their diamond,” Ferrin said.

Adames played shortstop for the Milwaukee Brewers in 2024 where he posted some exceptional numbers at the plate.
Through 161 games played, Adames batted .251 with 32 home runs, 112 runs batted in, and a .794 on-base plus slugging percentage.
Ferrin suggests signing Adames and moving him to second base to play alongside Francisco Lindor to upgrade the middle of the infield.
Adames had career highs in hits, runs scored, doubles, home runs, runs batted in, and stolen bases in 2024.
He came into the league in 2018 with the Tampa Bay Rays before going to the Brewers in 2021.
Ferrin appears to believe that the Mets will be looking to sign some big-name players this offseason, and he believes Adames could be one of those guys.
Although the Mets have not won a World Series since 1986, they appear to be willing to spend the money to push for a title in 2025.
