The New York Yankees had to pull out all the stops with their backs against the wall on Tuesday night to avoid being swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series, and they were able to get the bats going to take Game 4 11-4 and force a Game 5 on Wednesday.

In the bottom of the first inning, after Freddie Freeman gave the Dodgers a 2-0 lead with another home run, Gleyber Torres hit a fly ball down the right field line that was caught against the wall by Mookie Betts before two Yankees fans grabbed his arms and forcefully ripped the ball out of his glove.

Legendary NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski appeared on Up & Adams Wednesday morning to discuss the play and said he was college friends with the fan who interfered with the play and said “He’s a beauty. I just want to say congratulations for shining when your moment came.”

OF COURSE Gronk was college friends with the #Yankees fan who interfered with Mookie Betts glove last night 😭🔊

Gronkowski said that the fan was on the University of Arizona hockey team and the play represented him and his former hockey teammates well.

Playing a little defense as a fan to ensure the opposing team doesn’t make a catch comes with the territory, but these two fans went entirely too far and could have easily hurt Mookie Betts.

The fact that they were proud of what they did after the game shows that they shouldn’t be allowed back in any MLB games.
