The Seattle Mariners have not done much so far this offseason.

For a team that just missed out on the playoffs in 2023, you would think they would be aggressive in improving their team.

But, that has not been the case.

Instead, the Mariners continue to make smaller moves to help the depth of their roster.

The most recent move they made was signing RHP Austin Voth.

According to Jon Morosi, the Mariners signed Voth to a one-year deal.

This is not something that will move the needle for the Mariners or their fans.

But, Voth can be a stable arm in the backend of their rotation or the bullpen.

Last season, Voth struggled across 34.2 innings with the Baltimore Orioles.

He pitched to an ERA of 5.19 and pitched in 25 games, all of which were relief appearances.

This is not a move that Mariners fans want to see.

They want to see their team bring in an impact player of some sort.

Playing in the AL West brings plenty of trouble for the Mariners.

They must go up against the reigning World Series champion Texas Rangers and perennial powerhouse Houston Astros.

Seattle has done nothing this offseason to close the gap on those teams.

Luckily for the Mariners, there are still plenty of good players available in free agency.

The market has moved slowly this offseason as players search for the right deal.

There is no guarantee the Mariners will make a big move.

But, they should try to improve before spring training 2024 comes around.
