Brewers Rookie Holds A Special MLB Age-Related Honor

The Milwaukee Brewers not only have one of the best prospects in baseball (the second-best according to MLB Pipeline) in Jackson Chourio, but they also signed him to a long-term extension in the offseason.

That’s how much faith they have in him.

In fact, Milwaukee is so confident in his abilities that they are giving him an extended look in MLB after playing just six games in Triple-A.

Naturally, Chourio is the youngest player in the majors right now.

This bit of data by MLB will tell you everything you need to know about him.

Per the league’s official Twitter account, Chourio is the first player in MLB history born in 2004 or later.

The skills, however, are very much real.

Last year, he hit 22 home runs and stole 44 bases between Double-A and that short Triple-A cameo.

Chourio is now a legitimate Rookie of the Year candidate in the National League if he stays healthy.

He didn’t take long to make an impression.

In Friday’s season opener against the New York Mets, the toolsy outfielder logged his first hit, worked his first walk, and stole his first base.

It’s pretty much a quick glimpse of his impressive skillset.

The Brewers hope that the jump from Double-A to the majors with just six Triple-A games isn’t something he can’t handle.

In any case, the 20-year-old Chourio has all the time in the world to mature and show improvement as a player.

The basic skills are there for him to become a star one day, perhaps as early as 2024.
