Game one of the World Series between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers will take place on Friday.
It took six games for the Dodgers to defeat the New York Mets in the National League Championship Series, while it only took five for the Yankees to defeat the Cleveland Guardians in the American League Championship Series.
The star power in this World Series matchup is undeniable, and Dodgers slugger Max Muncy appears to have the same feeling.
“As a fan of baseball, this is going to be really cool,” Muncy said.
“As a fan of baseball, this is going to be really cool.”
Max Muncy is one of us.
Muncy doesn’t get as much attention as Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman on the Dodgers, but he quietly had an exceptional series against the Guardians.
He had five hits in 15 at-bats with two home runs, four runs batted in, five runs scored, two stolen bases, a whopping 11 walks, and he only struck out four times.
Muncy could potentially be a key player in this series if the Yankees decide to pitch around the big guns of Ohtani, Betts, and Freeman.
There is a good chance Muncy will have some key at-bats with runners on base that could change the trajectory of the series.
The Dodgers are appearing in their first World Series since taking the title in the Covid shortened 2020 season.
Muncy mentions the star power that is going to be on the field in this series between two iconic Major League Baseball teams.
The Dodgers will look to start out the series strong as they have home-field advantage after finishing with the best record in all of baseball.
