The Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees are getting ready to kick off the World Series in Game 1.

Both of these teams have big-time names on their rosters, and fans could be in for a treat as home runs may come rapidly and in bunches.

When it comes to World Series Most Valuable Player, it would appear that it will be one of the big names on the winning squad.

However, MLB analyst Charlie Culberson said he believes there is an under-the-radar player who could take home the award.

“I think Max Muncy is my wild horse to win the World Series MVP this year,” Culberson said, via MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM.

“It’ll come down to the guys that aren’t in the big three, on each side.”

Culberson describes that both teams will be hyper-focused on the big names of Aaron Judge, Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton of the Yankees, and Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman of the Dodgers.

Being so focused on those players could leave an opportunity for the depth players of each team to capitalize on pitchers thinking they are in the clear after getting through the stars in the lineup.

Muncy falls into the category of depth players on the Dodgers, but he has plenty of postseason experience.

In 57 career postseason games, Muncy has 13 home runs, 34 RBIs, 38 runs scored and an .885 OPS.

Culberson may have a case for his pick for World Series MVP, as most fans know Muncy can leave the yard at any moment.

If Muncy can capitalize on some lower-leverage pitches, he may be able to make the case for himself.
