Baseball is often all about family.
A young kid who has fallen in love with the game usually inherited that love from a family member.
In any case, there is, almost always, family involved.
Parents are the ones signing their kids up for youth league tournaments, little league, then high school and college.
They are the ones driving their kids to games, and showing their support by sitting in the stands and, sometimes, offering a word of advice.
That’s the dream of every little kid who loves baseball: to enjoy the game and the time with the family, and someday make it to the bigs.
That’s precisely what young Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll experienced.
MLB published a cool post highlighting the path he covered, one in which his parents played an important role.
“From getting dropped off by your parents for your first home opener to receiving the NL Rookie of the Year award with them in less than 10 months … Corbin Carroll is living every young baseball player’s dream,” they tweeted.

The picture is extremely wholesome: a dream come true for Carroll and, we are sure, for his parents, too.
Carroll had made his MLB debut in 2022 with a solid 32-game stint in which he had a .830 OPS, four homers, and two stolen bases.
2023 marked his first home opener, though, and boy, it was the start of a special year for him.
Not only did he win the NL Rookie of the Year award by becoming the first player in history to hit at least 30 doubles, 10 triples, 25 home runs, score 115 or more runs, and steal 50 or more bases in the same season, but he took his D-Backs all the way to the World Series.
They fell to the Texas Rangers there, but Carroll showed the world what he is capable of.
He is now the on-field and spiritual leader of a very young, yet extremely exciting Diamondbacks team that is well equipped to fight for another World Series berth.
