On Friday, game one of the World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees is set to begin.
Both teams have had a few days off to prepare for the biggest series of the year.
The Yankees are looking for their first World Series title since 2009, while the Dodgers are looking for their first title since 2020.
Baseball fans around the world are likely excited for the start of the World Series, and even Yankees Legend CC Sabathia had something to say about it.
“Feels like Christmas morning,” Sabathia said.
Feels like Christmas morning…
Sabathia played 19 seasons in the MLB with 11 of those seasons being for the Yankees.
He came to the Yankees in 2009 and won a World Series title in his first season with the team after posting a record of 19 wins and eight losses in the regular season.
Sabathia was the American League Championship Series Most Valuable Player in 2009 against the Los Angeles Angels.
In the 2009 ALCS, he had a record of two wins and zero losses while throwing 16 innings allowing two earned runs and striking out 12.
Many baseball fans likely feel the same as Sabathia’s statement with the start of the World Series looming.
The Yankees will start their ace Gerrit Cole in game one, and he will go up against Jack Flaherty of the Dodgers.
Although Flaherty appears to be the ace for the Dodgers, the New York Mets roughed him up in his last outing where he allowed eight earned runs in three innings pitched.
It will be interesting to see whether the offenses or the pitchers shine in game one.
