Rhys Hoskins was a mainstay in the heart of the Philadelphia Phillies lineup for six years before missing last season due to a torn ACL and leaving for the Milwaukee Brewers this offseason, and he received an all-time great ovation in his first game back in Philly last week.
Hoskins received a long ovation last Monday in his first at-bat in Philadelphia as a member of the Brewers, and he has finally opened up about how special that moment was to him.
Hoskins appeared on MLB Network today and when asked about his return to his old home, Hoskins said: “It was nothing short of incredible, really. Lifelong memories that I’ll be able to have forever.”

The Phillies were forced to shift Bryce Harper to first base last season after Hoskins went down with his injury, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise for the Phillies as they found a way to keep Harper healthier, though it created a logjam at the position that inevitably ended with Hoskins leaving in free agency.
He signed a 2-year, $34 million deal with Milwaukee and has been a strong addition to the lineup so far with 10 home runs, 28 RBI, and a .776 .OPS.
The Brewers have a solid 6.5-game lead in the NL Central largely thanks to the consistency Hoskins has brought to the first base position.
Few expected the Brewers to be comfortably in first place at this point in the season, but they have exceeded expectations and are pacing their division.
