The New York Yankees lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in game two of the World Series on Saturday.
After losing game one by a score of six to three, the Yankees fell again in game two by a score of four to two.
They will take a two-game series deficit back home to Yankee Stadium for game three on Monday.
One former Boston Red Sox player appeared to be thrilled that the Yankees lost again in the World Series.
David Ortiz took a jab at the Yankees on the air after their game two loss.
“Today was a good day, because the Yankees lose,” Ortiz said.
“Today was a good day… Because DA YANKEES LOSE!”
The rivalry between the Red Sox and the Yankees is probably one of the most known rivalries in all of Major League Baseball.
It appears that the rivalry doesn’t end even after a player’s career as Ortiz seized the opportunity to take a jab at the Yankees after losing to the Dodgers in game two.
Ortiz played 14 seasons for the Red Sox from 2003 to 2016 where he won three World Series titles in 2004, 2007, and 2013.
His postseason numbers include 85 games played with 17 home runs, 61 runs batted in, and a .947 on-base plus slugging percentage.
The Yankees will look to get back in the series in game three as they return home to play in front of their fans at Yankee Stadium.
It appears to be a must-win game for the Yankees, and they will look to Clarke Schmidt on the mound to try and tame this explosive Dodgers offense.
